Summer song: koel

The hot months have arrived, the days and nights of heavy rains are not far off.

Mangos are plentiful, lychees are imminent.

Interrupting the torpor: the Asian Koel, aka common koel:
This is a noisy species, with persistent and loud ku-OO ku-OO calls as well as other cackles and screams.
So far unseen, but surely heard. Perhaps it perches in the higher reaches of one of the square's tall Chinese Banyan trees.
