An autumn tale

What starts out as a simple question -- where is it? -- becomes an obsession. The mysterious origins of a Windows desktop image, by Nick Tosches: vanity fair

Also by Tosches and worth tracking down is his biography of Dean Martin -- Dino: Living High in the Dirty Business of Dreams. Tosches chronicles Dean Martin's life and the writing takes on a semi-hallucinatory darkness as Dino reaches old age, closes the curtains, knocks back some more pills, and opens another bottle.

Living High in the Dirty Business of Dreams is out of print but available at places like the 'new, used, rare and out of print' retailer: abebooks

BTW, did you know that last year Blender mag named "DINO" the greatest Rock and Roll book of all times? And, last I looked the Dinobook is very much still in print in paperback....such a classic will always be available!!!! Never was, never will be anyone as cool as the King of Cool. Oh, to return to the days when Dino walked the earth!

Thanks for yr comment!

Dino is in print? Based on a search of amazon.com, it is out of print.

However, digging around amazon.co.uk. . . . and there it is. In print. In the UK. You are right! Cool, eh?

That said, you can buy it new and cheaper at abebooks.com

Cheers!

Hey pallie, like thanks for your reply. Just went to Amazon and found the hardcover used, the UK edition (BTW, totally groove on that cover), but also found the US paperback still VERY MUCH in print----the one with Dino's pic and his name spelled out in neon lights!!!! Check it out....Dino is more popular then ever, and this book will be in print for a very long time. DINO RULES!!!!
