Tin Hau birthday
Since Sunday lion/dragon teams have been noisily parading through the streets on and near the waterfront of a little island in the South China Sea.
Hither and zither. . . morning, noon and night.
Why? To celebrate the birthday of Tin Hau (Goddess of the Sea).
Yes, but Tin Hau's birthday is 25 April this year.
Ah, but on this little island in the South China Sea we march to our own drum.

Seems like your little island in the South China Sea sure loves its traditional Chinese celebrations. So... when will the bun festival preparations begin?? ;b
Yeah, the numerous local neighbourhood/clan associations keep things sweet.
Let's see, if memory serves me well, they start building the large bamboo opera house on the basketball courts in front of Pak Tai Temple about 10 days before the main event. . .
