Salaam Bombay! The aftermath.

How was Peter M and family's going-away party on Sunday afternoon. Mister B regrets to announce he doesn't know; he didn't go.

It wasn't the heavy rains and violent thunderstorm which started around two pm and lasted a good three-quarters of an hour that caused the absence. Perhaps hardier, healthier souls who made it to the party will report in the Comment box?

I braved the maelstrom along with a few other hardy, perhaps desperate, inhabitants of the Little Island in the South China Sea – Mike H, Mick S, Murnie W, Xavier, Will H & beau to name a few. Also there, plenty of media types from town and a few ex-colleagues of Peter M’s. It stopped raining eventually, treating us to a nice view of the wine-dark sea, and the papaya trees from which the delicious som tam (Thai green papaya salad) was made. Peter, Monique & Lucy will certainly miss the place. Good news for Hazel the dog though: she’s about to embark on a career of yapping in Mumbai.

Thanks, Nick G! I don't think those inhabitants of a little island in the South China Sea who made it were desperate, just fitter than yours truly.

My bad I missed the pony-tailed types from town, the food, the view and the opportunity to say thanks and do well to P, M and L.

Cheers!

Mister B

Desperate is the wrong word, you're right - 'determined', given the weather conditions - would have been better.
No pony-tails though...
