Miles Davis: Elevator to the Gallows (Ascenseur pour l'échafaud)
For the weekend, a guilty pleasure.
Great film noir in the French style with a gorgeous score by Miles Davis. Here's the film trailer and some of "the loneliest trumpet sound you'll ever hear":
Wonderful trailer for a great film! Thanks for digging it up.
By the way, if all Jeanne Moreau is doing in the trailer is walk along the street looking beautiful, that's all she does in the film as well - a rather peculiar role.
Walk? It's not quite all she does. At the beginning, Jeanne Moreau keeps saying "je t'aime" into a telephone. But you're right, after that she walks. But beautiful.
